COWARDY
COWARDY CUSTARD
With
respect to the below website:
http://dspace.dial.pipex.com/log/joeydeacon/joeyback.htm
I
wish to register my extreme displeasure and disgust at the content.
I trust that your AUP caters for content of a members website
which may be deemed derogatory or distasteful.
I
would therefore request that you review this content and request
that the author remove the offending material.
I
myself am disabled. Whilst there is nothing wrong with laughing
at oneself, as one cannot justifiably laugh at others if unable
to, this website ridicules rather than laughing *with* the individual.
This is totally unacceptable.

This
email wasn't even sent to me. It was forwarded to me by my ISP.
Presumably because I am such a horrific monster that I would email
them back saying "ha, ha, spazzy legs". I wouldn't - complain
to me directly, please. |
A
POME FOR JOHN
I
wander lonely as a cloud,
through fair England's gardens green,
her chaste and comely presence,
plucks a fine melody,
upon the tuneful strings of my swollen heart.
And yet.....
I cannot resist the machinations of my soul,
I feel it stirring in my throat,
those foul and pestilent words,
which cage my very being;
the FUCKING BASTARD CUNT WANKS,
COME ON YOU TWAT FACED ARSE CUNT,
I'LL KICK THE LIVING FUCK FROM YOUR SHITTY BOLLOCKS - CUNT,
WANK, FUCK, SHIT, FUCK, SHIT, FUCK.

I
thought I'd write and state my opinion about the offensive website:
http://dspace.dial.pipex.com/log/joeydeacon/joeytalk.htm
that
is hosted on your ISP. I am an American disability services professional
and find the content of this site to be counter to the decent
attitudes that I try to foster among the public towards people
with disabilities.
Even
though in this country, this would be 'protected' under the Right
to Free Speech, that does not make it inoffensive. I am not sure
what protections are offered in the United Kingdom, but I understand
that your company provided ISP services to schools and thus is
exposing children to this disgusting material, if only by close
association.
Please
note my displeasure at this material.

Americans!
Now that America knows about my site, I genuinely tremble.
Now decency and offense will be treated as objective truths, which
are to be measured by Service Professionals.
Am
I the only person whose skin crawled when they read "I
understand that your company provided ISP services to schools
and thus is exposing children to this disgusting material"?
That's beautiful. Once you've run out of emotive words like "disgusting"
and "decency", bring the children into it. Any way you
can, bring in the children!

I
recently came across the following site which is hosted on pipex.
http://dspace.dial.pipex.com/log/joeydeacon/joeytalk.htm
I
quote from your acceptable use policy: 'This includes, without
limitation, material protected by copyright, trademark, trade
secret or intellectual property right used without proper authorisation,
and material that is obscene, defamatory, constitutes an illegal
threat, or violates export control laws.'
Although
I can see that this site doesn't not fit into most of your unacceptable
uses, I do feel that it is both defamatory to both the memory
of Joey Deacon and to all physically disabled people - particularly
those with CP. I teach at a primary school and am alarmed that
this site could be accessed by children. As a supplier to a large
number of schools, surely you appreciate my concerns.
[...snip...]
I
might also add that I have talked online to the author of this
site, who implied that anyone who doesnt appreciate the spirit
with which it was written - simply lacks a sense of humour. I
most certainly don't, believe me you need one to work with five
year olds!! However, I don't think I would find anything funny
about being an able minded person trapped in a disabled body,
if people laughed at me for dribbling.
Without
doubt - I find this site both offensive and defamatory and I look
forward to hearing your comments on the matter.
